UNF intro week

UNF INTRO WEEK
What a start the intro week at the University of North Florida has been, and it was topped off with meeting some really interesting people. After the first day of meet and greet, going over the course, and the swim test we went into the field. The second day was spent at GTMNERR (Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve) kayaking and doing field work. We learned about migrating marshes/living barriers, the local vegetation in the river  (Spartina alterniflora which acts as the primary barrier plant), and about a safer way to study the marsh via a drone.
