Week 3 USFSP

Week 3 was a very interesting and exciting week. The most interesting part of this week was the entire research day on the Weatherbird II. Personally I have always wanted to do this and I learned so many new things. For example; using a CTD which I was most excited about to learn, an otter trawl, and a dredge. We also did plankton tows with two different types of tow nets, a bongo and neuston. The challenging aspect of this class was identifying species of invertebrates as well as processing that data.

Overall, this week was incredible because of the research cruise. It showed me something I wouldn't mind doing in my near future. Looking forward to UWF since I have never been to Pensacola!
